Reviving My Meyer Lemon Tree: A Morning Journey

I woke up this morning early. Too early. Like zero-dark-thirty early. Bleh.

It really was dark when I woke up, so I thought I’d go get my mail from yesterday. When I opened the front door, a wave of cool air whisked right by me. What an unbelievable feeling! These types of mornings are rare in Tampa, FL and I’ll take every one of them I can get.

While it was too dark to do my usual tour of the garden, I did note that the land just seemed happier after yesterday’s constant, steady rain. It’s the first one we’ve had since the hurricanes ripped through back in September/October. The sound of the wind through the trees was like a singing voice.

<break> Gotta eat some breakfast, then wait for sunrise…

Ok! Just got back from my garden stroll… I have a Meyer Lemon tree in a pot, which lost its leaves about 3 months ago. Last year it was beset with aphids and ants, so I figured it was likely dead.

About two weeks ago it blossomed! Those little flowers smell so good… like a little scent of heaven. Now leaves are coming back!

Until tomorrow… stay safe and connect with nature!
